Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what information Cheappper.com collects, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what happens when you click a link.

Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, or payment details — those are handled entirely by the providers you choose to buy from. The information we do process is limited to:

  • Affiliate click data. When you click a “Buy” or outbound provider link, we record that a click happened — the provider, an anonymous click identifier, the page you came from, your browser’s user-agent string, and the TLD or plan you were viewing. This lets us confirm referrals and understand which comparisons are useful.
  • The cheap_ref cookie. On clicking an affiliate link we set a first-party cookie named cheap_ref that contains the provider name and the anonymous click identifier. It lasts up to 30 days and is used solely to attribute a resulting purchase to the correct referral. It does not track you across other websites.
  • Hashed IP addresses. We do not store your raw IP address. Before saving, any IP is passed through a one-way hash so that click records cannot be tied back to a specific address. The hash is used only for basic de-duplication and fraud prevention.
  • Standard server logs and analytics. Like most sites, our hosting may keep short-lived technical logs to keep the service running and secure.

Where your data is stored

Click records and site data are stored using Supabase, our database provider, which processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments.

We never sell your personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. The only data shared with providers is the anonymous click identifier needed to credit a referral — passed through in the affiliate link itself.

Cookies you can control

The cheap_ref cookie is a first-party cookie you can clear or block at any time through your browser settings. Blocking it will not stop you from using the site or reaching any provider — it only affects whether a referral can be attributed to us.
