Where prices come from

Every price is taken from the provider’s own public pricing page and recorded with the date we checked it. On each comparison we link back to that source, so a “verified” row is one you can confirm yourself in a click. Prices change often, so listing pages rebuild daily.

The 3-year cost calculation

The headline number for hosting is the total you pay to stay three years. We charge the promotional term at its intro price, then the standard renewal rate for the remaining months up to 36:

3-yr total = intro × promo months + renewal × (36 − promo months)

For domains, where you renew year by year, we rank by the ongoing renewal price rather than the one-time registration promo — because that’s what you pay for every year you keep the name.

Renewal spike flags

When a renewal jumps well above the intro price, we mark it with an orange badge showing the percentage increase. When the renewal stays close to the register price, it gets a green badge — a signal the price you see is roughly the price you’ll keep paying.

At-cost providers

A few providers — Cloudflare’s registrar being the clearest example — sell at wholesale cost with no markup. We tag those rows “at-cost” so a low number reads as a business model, not a temporary teaser.

Independence from commissions

Some outbound links are affiliate links that may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence the order of a table: we sort strictly by real cost, and providers that pay us nothing appear right alongside those that do. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
